The March 15th Forum
The UN proclaimed March 15th the International Day to Combat Islamophobia.
We invite all Member States, relevant organizations of the United Nations system, other international and regional organizations, and civil society, private sector, and faith-based organizations to organize and support various high-visibility events aimed at effectively increasing awareness at all levels about curbing Islamophobia and to observe the International Day ………
The acknowledgment of Islamophobia as a global problem of anti-Muslim bigotry and hate by the United Nations marks the highest political recognition Muslims have seen for years. The United Nations has gone further to institutionalize March 15th as the International Day to Combat Islamophobia. The landmark recognition granted by the United Nations must be put to practical and effective use in combating Islamophobia.
The March 15th Forum aims to reach the world, establish a global network of advocates and activists, influencers, and opinion leaders, and promote the institutionalization of the International Day to Combat Islamophobia.
The Islamophobia Scorecards and Solidarity Registry are such initiatives for anyone to check who is and who is not on board in the struggle to combat Islamophobia.
Civil societies, advocates and activists, influencers and opinion leaders, elected officials, and average citizens are invited to join the efforts to counter Islamophobia.
The March 15th Forum is implementing programs to use International Day to Combat Islamophobia effectively.
The March 15th Forum, through its various collaborations and affiliates, will organize high-visibility events and conventions to commemorate International Day to Combat Islamophobia.
Combating Islamophobia aims to promote unity, tolerance, and cultural harmony and ultimately achieve solidarity with all humanity.
The March 15th Forum will invite organizations, civil societies, and private sector entities that have the potential to impact efforts to combat Islamophobia to support and participate in the United Nations–designated International Day to Combat Islamophobia. The invitees can either organize their own high-visibility event or support and join high-visibility events organized by the March 15th Forum.
The March 15th Forum will gather the invitees’ responses and their intention (or not) to participate in combating Islamophobia.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) led efforts in the UN to set March 15 as the International Day to Combat Islamophobia. However, this initiative is unlikely to produce the desired impact without further steps to incentivize and strengthen it. To institutionalize the International Day to Combat Islamophobia, the March 15th Forum is establishing a solidarity registry to record the names of participants organizing and supporting various high-visibility events aimed at effectively increasing awareness at all levels about combating Islamophobia.
The solidarity registry data will be available for public dissemination so anyone can check who is and is not on board in the struggle to combat Islamophobia.
